Spektrum's 2.4GHz DSM2 technology gets even smaller with the AR6110 6-channel DSM2 Microlite Park Flyer Receiver. The AR6110 weighs less than 3.5 grams making it the lightest 6-channel conventional plug aircraft receiver on the market. Antenna locations give the AR6110 improved signal path diversity. The receiver also features a red LED (labeled with H) that indicates the number of holds that have occurred since the receiver was last powered on. The AR6110 is compatible with all aircraft DSM2 radios and module systems.

Good News for Robot Builders!
This receiver has been tested to bind quickly and FAILSAFE properly on ALL CHANNELS with the following Spektrum Transmitters:
DX6i
DX7
DX5e
What does this mean? Well, for one, you no longer have to rely solely on the BR6000 (An older DSM1 receiver), but can now match a real DSM2 receiver with your DSM2 transmitter, to be legal for robot tournaments!

PLEASE NOTE The programmable failsafe for the throttle channel (channel 3) is set by the position of the stick on your radio at the time of binding, so before you bind, make sure the stick is in the throttle 'off' position. All other channels will automatically failsafe to a 'no signal' state. For the majority of speed controllers, this means drop to 0%, effectively creating a legal failsafe.

This receiver will NOT WORK with the original DX6 radio, only the newer DSM2 systems listed above. If you have the older DX6 radio, and wish to use for robots, you will still need to use the BR6000 receiver. The older DSM1 systems (DX6 and the BR6000) have been discontinued and can no longer be sold.

These receivers are so tiny. They seem perfect for almost any application with the standard connectors, small size and weight, and miniscule antenna size compared to other receivers out there.

The BEST receiver on the market. I use these in all of my robots, from fairyweight to middleweight with ZERO problems whatsoever. Binds quickly and securely with my Spektrum DX6i.

DSM2 is to DSM as PCM is to standard FM. It is the next generation of Spektrum's 2.4Ghz line of radio equipment. Upon loss of communication between the transmitter and receiver, all channels will output a "No Signal", with the exception being Throttle, which goes to the bind position. Add the lightweight on top of that feature that was missing from DSM1, and you have a great receiver for all size of bots!

Good for most applications

Pros: I've done some testing and it not only binds quickly with the DX6i, but gets great reception. I tested it across the house with the receiver mostly enclosed in aluminum and the transmitter (at less than 15% power) inside the drier and it didn't disconnect. I walked about 800 feet away with houses between the receiver and radio and it lost signal for a moment, though my remote was also dying. The "holds" indicator, which flashes the number of times it loses radio link, is great for reception testing. The size is great as well.

Cons: It failsafes to the bound position on the THROTTLE channel, but all other channels are sent no siganl in failsafe mode. If you have an ESC connected to that channel, it should return to OFF or Neutral with no signal. If you're using servos, the servos will NOT return to bind position. They will stay in their last position and go slack.

Overall: I'm very satisfied. I would prefer a failsafe position for every channel, but it works as it is for my purposes at the moment. 4.5 stars for all the great aspects and just the one failsafe preference.
