The AR500 sport aircraft full range 5-channel receiver is perfect for any of your sport applications where 5-channels or less is required. This receiver has a unique aileron configuration which has an additional aileron port. This allows you to plug in a left and a right aileron servo into the receiver independently without using a Y-harness.

Good News for Robot Builders!
This receiver has been tested to bind quickly and FAILSAFE properly on ALL CHANNELS with the following Spektrum Transmitters:
DX6i
DX7
DX5e
What does this mean? Well, for one, you no longer have to rely solely on the BR6000 (An older DSM1 receiver), but can now match a real DSM2 receiver with your DSM2 transmitter, to be legal for robot tournaments!

PLEASE NOTE The programmable failsafe for the throttle channel (channel 3) is set by the position of the stick on your radio at the time of binding, so before you bind, make sure the stick is in the throttle 'off' position. All other channels will automatically failsafe to a 'no signal' state. For the majority of speed controllers, this means drop to 0%, effectively creating a legal failsafe.

This receiver will NOT WORK with the original DX6 radio, only the newer DSM2 systems listed above. If you have the older DX6 radio, and wish to use for robots, you will still need to use the BR6000 receiver. The older DSM1 systems (DX6 and the BR6000) have been discontinued and can no longer be sold.

DSM2 is to DSM as PCM is to standard FM. It is the next generation of Spektrum's 2.4Ghz line of radio equipment. Upon loss of communication between the transmitter and receiver, all channels will output a "No Signal", with the exception being Throttle, which goes to the bind position. Add the lightweight on top of that feature that was missing from DSM1, and you have a great receiver for all size of bots!

AR500 - good reliable full range RX

I'm using this full range receiver in a Pitts BiPlane and a P51. I've had zero problems over the last 7 months of flying roughly 3 times a week. The dual antennas should be oriented at 90 degree angles, and spaced as far apart as possible to maximize signal reception and eliminate reflective dead zones. This RX is a good choice if you want a full range unit, and only need 5 channels, but don't want to go to a dual receiver like the AR6200.
