Reasonable Choice

I've used S28-150's, S28-400's and even some older C40's for years. Just bought a new batch of the "A28-150" and I must say I'm a bit disappointed. They are made in China and seem quite a bit cheaper (cheaper wire, cheaper feeling housing, etc.) I've not tested them in battle yet, but I'm concerned.

I threw a current meter on them and tested reverse/forward operation and they don't perform as expected. I will attempt to re-time them, but I think we are looking at a cheapened product over what we've grown to expect from the "real" magmotor/satcom built S28 series.

The lower rating is based on my current view of the A28's, not the historical greatness of the S28's.

Team OverKill

hard to kill

I have used the S28-150 motor for many years in 30 lbs bots. While I have broken a few, they have also delivered several national championships and medals at RoboGames. Its hard to imagine a tougher motor.

Matt Tavares (Blender)

Blender Tested and Approved

We have used these in the Blender since ver 2 (ver 6 just competed) and haven't looked back since. These motors are phenomenal. As always with any motor, make sure you won't be torque stalling it.

Amazing

This motor continues to amaze me at its power in a relatively small package. I used 6 of these in combination with the Team Whyachi gearboxes in my most recent heavyweight robot, and they are PERFECT for my application. Compact and durable, TONS of torque and they can take a good amount of abuse.

Kevin Barker (Team Velocity)

Proved in countless successful bots, this motor is ridiculously powerful. Also important for combat, it is very tough and can handle some major abuse. In extreme shock loads the magnets can separate from the can or shatter. I would really like to see replacement magnets available for purchase.
