DigiMix-3 is the ultimate platform to develop your own servo control software! This includes all types mixing from simple V-tail mixing to gyro stabilised flybarless helicopter rotor heads, and everything in-between. It is supplied with a software update cable to load your custom firmware to the microcontroller. No other hardware is needed! The compiler (GCC) is completely free and is very well supported. It is supplied with example code which will get you up and running in no time at all. The supplied softare includes a set of functions that allow you to very easily control and manipulate RC signals. DigiMix-3 has 3 inputs and 2 outputs which can be configured for standard rate (50Hz to 120Hz) and high rate 274Hz output for digital servos. This is an excellent platform for your custom applications, from beginner to high-end, or to learn more about how servos are controlled, or even just to get started with the amazing world of microcontrollers! It contains an industry-leading Atmel AVR microcontroller with a wealth of information, examples and support.

The developer guided me to this very capable mixer for a special multi-rotor helicopter application. The unit works just as advertised, and the custom programming options are limited only by the owner's imagination and programming knowledge.

Outstanding product. I don't know of anything in its class.

The programable system works a treat.
I don't have C++ but do know Delphi/pascal. and it was easy enough to adapt the sample programs to suit my needs.

What i missed was info that you had to power the system externaly (BEC or receiver pack)

It will take power from the output side aswell. i use it to DIG mix 2 crawler esc's in a 7.4V system. so the esc's provide 5V to the mixer while the receiver and steering servo on my crawler are at 7.4V.

DigiMix-3 application on scale R/C boat

I was looking for a way to use one of the proportional channels on my R/C system to control an auxiliary sound application in addition to the existing winches on my boat.
The "DigiMix 3" allows me to use channel 1 for both purposes. I choose the application by using channel 5 as a "mode" switch.

This works very well. The manufacturer provided a custom program to accomplish this at no charge as part of their R/C development effort.

I made a closed loop lifter with the DigiMix3. A potentiometer monitors arm position and compares to command from RC input. The RC out pulse to a drive, like a victor883, moves the arm in the proper direction until the actual position matches the desired position.

Other micro controllers can do this, but none are as small. The Input cable and output headers are already installed.

Best mixer on the market

After testing multiple mixers on various applications, none has performed smoother than the Digimix3. Most mixers will have jitters or be incompatible with certain servos or receivers, the Digimix3 however does not jitter with any application.

If you know c++, it opens doors for you to customize your own program. If you don't know c++, they provide you with a set of programs to do various basic functions. On my aircraft I currently have this mixer mixing channels 1 and 2, channel 7 is then set as input 3 and controls the level of mixing on the fly.

The only con to this chip is it will only function between 4.5 to 5.5 volts. No 5 cell batteries allowed.
