I bought this to do a repair on an expensive linear actuator. It worked great and saved me 10X its cost if I would have had to scrap the actuator. Of course its not a production tool, but for occasional repairs and hobby work, this little gear puller is great!

Not suitable for 5mm shaft diameter, especially if the pulley has a flange. Also the body of the tool appears to be machined from brass, and not up to the task of 5mm shafts. I broke mine right away, but it would probably work fine for 3mm shafts or less.

GREAT TOOL BUT POORLY CONSTRUCTED
Great idea but manufactured out of materials that are too soft and brittle for commercial use. First steel gear I tried to pull broke the smallest stem and bent the retaining plate. Would have been happy to have paid more for a quality tool. This one is probably good for small inexpensively made motors and toys but apparently not suitable for precision made brass and steel commercial pinions and gears.

Gear puller
Product initially seemed OK and sturdy but broke within 2 minutes on the first pinion I tried it with, I do not think its really suited to 5mm shafts.
Some pinions from 5mm shafts will not even fit in this unit so very optimistic claim from the maker.
Its probably a good unit if you just use it with 3mm motors and pinions.

Does what it says on the box. It is sturdy and easy to use. I tend to hold the lower plate in a vice, to stop it sliding off-centre.
