I've fixed the front index page, sorry for the ugly layout for those of you using Netscape, I didn't know it was a problem (I use Explorer) until Dan Danknick pointed it out (Thanks, Dan!). Should be better now, if not.
Added a few more links to the links page. Thanks to those of you contributing here and keeping your sites updated too!

The Video Clips are done and uploaded in the new Video Footage section! I put in 5 different clips featuring Hercules '98 and Junior! More will appear there eventually, but that should be enough to satisfy your curiosity for now!
Enjoy! Let me know if you have any problems viewing them. Thanks!

The links page is done. I've also been cleaning up and redesigning some other areas on the site- too many to mention, so just wander around and check it out! Make sure you if you experience any problems with layouts, images, etc. If something looks funky to you, it probably didn't to me, so drop me a line to say so. Thanks to all of you who have given input so far! Keep it up! I've got BIG plans for this site over the next 6 months or so!
I've also been meaning to do this for a while now... Here is a banner that you can put on your own webpage, newsgroup, forum, e-mails or whatever to link to here, you don't need to copy the image or anything, all you need to do is put the following HTML code somewhere in the place you want it to appear:
<a href="http://www.robotcombat.com">
<img src="http://www.robotcombat.com/images/herculesbanner.jpg" border=0></a>( I'll probably redesign it later, but go ahead and post it wherever you want for now. When I update the banner here, it will change on your site or wherever you put it.) Thanks!

I've completely redone and cleaned up the links page. Now it is all on one page and I even put little icon ratings by each robot entry so that you can find what you need just by looking at what icons are next to the robot name. Check it out NOW and let me know if you have any additions, changes or suggestions. Thanks!

Happy Holidays to all you Hercules fans! My Christmas gift to you, to thank you for all your support and faithful reading on this site is a chance for some first looks at Hercules 2!
If you haven't already seen it, I've updated my Hercules 1998 section. It outlines the build and design process and includes several images. Stay tuned, I'm adding more all the time!
12/14/98
I've added a Robot Wars History section for anyone who wants the whole scoop on Robot Wars, from the beginning thru now. This is just a short listing to show what has happened over the years. I also added a section there for other Robot Combat events.

You didn't like the frames thing anyway, right?
As you have noticed, I'm redesigning, updating and reorganizing several areas on this site. It is also moving (temporarily for now- possibly permanently later) to a different server, so if you bookmark any internal pages (like this one), you will want to relink to the new site location on the earthlink server. Obviously during this time of transition, some areas of the site may not function properly, but please be patient while I work out all the bugs.Within the next few weeks, I'll be adding a LOT of information, pictures, links, and even some video footage, so stay tuned! You probably noticed the changes on the main homepage first, that was the biggest change so far. Did it load quickly enough for you? Let me know, if its too slow, I'll need to change it a bit. Everything else right now is pretty much the same, please feel free to e-mail me if you have suggestions or stuff to contribute! (This is the best way to contact me during the week).
Thanks for your patience, support and all the encouragement for this website! I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't think you guys were worth it! Thanks!

Today was the scheduled date for the hearing in Santa Rosa for the Robot Wars Trademark. I showed up to watch the proceedings, as did several other Robot Wars competitors and enthusiasts. It was to be a grand event- everyone was there ready for the case, heck, even Steve Plotnicki made time out from his busy schedule to show up in court. When the 9:00am starting time came and went, we were not concerned. However, at 9:30 with still no sign of the judge, we started to wonder. Eventually a court representative notified the court that the judge wanted to speak with a lawyer from each side. After a few minutes, they returned and everyone involved in the case ended up filing out of the courtroom to the various conference rooms, sidewalks and hallways to discuss who-knows-what. So of course, we the audience, with no show to watch, ended up kicking back and talking about everything from Robot Wars to motorcycles to Starcraft gaming techniques- Ultra-geek award to Todd M. for bringing his laptop into the courtroom for some halftime entertainment! (Kidding) Hats off to Todd, Christian and Dan (am I missing anyone?), who made the long distance flight in just for this unremarkable event. Oh, and lets not forget about Trey, who just got married and is leaving on his honeymoon tonight! Congrats, Trey!
Anyway, we basically just sat around for a couple of hours, and by the time noon rolled around, I had to call it quits to head back to work. Dawna Weichel called me later in the afternoon and gave me the scoop on what happened after I left- basically everyone went to lunch and then around 2pm the judge got everyone together and apparently was upset that no decision had been made today, since he had previously set aside today just to come up with a solution. A new date- January 13, 1999, was set for Steve P. and Marc T. and their respective lawyers to make some sort of resolution between them. SO, to make a long story short, now we have to wait some more. So who else will be coming up on this next court date? Let's fill up the whole right side of the courtroom! Heck, there must've been a dozen empty seats... I'll be there again. And NO, I won't be wearing a tie! (Don't get me wrong, Dan- you looked quite impressive in the CIA gear)

Happy December!
Its that time of year again... time to stop spending money on your robot and start buying things for your family and friends (you still have a few bucks left, right?) Since we've all been waiting for December 3rd, I'll assume all of you have already completed your Christmas shopping in the meantime, right? Not me. Too darn busy. Maybe over the next couple weeks I should finish shopping for family- now if only I can convince my wife that she would REALLY love to see that new MIG welder under the tree with her name on it! : )Anyway, as you can see, once again I've moved all the previous month's updates into its own section below, keeping things nice and tidy around here, huh?
Thanks to all of you who have e-mailed me to thank me for this website! I'm glad you guys are still enjoying it even though I have not really been able to add much to it lately (partly my fault for being too busy and of course partly cuz there really isn't much at all going on with Robot Wars news).
Well, I guess I'll be posting an update of whatever happens this Thursday at Marc Thorpe's follow-up hearing for the Robot Wars trademark. Stay tuned for an update on whatever happens! Any guesses as to what may happen? I'd put my money on yet another delay, even though I would hate for it to happen, I'm sure these NY Lawyers will want to drag this thing on for a REALLLLY long time. But, last time the judge seemed pretty open to getting a quick resolution to this matter, so he may force the issue a bit. Hope so. Well, see ya later!
