Front Stage Speaker Setup

I chose to put two components in each door as opposed to one in each. I wanted a broad and loud front stage that I could tweak as many ways as possible.

I quickly decided against using the kick panel areas due to space restrictions and an unwanted relocation of the truck's engine computer. The door pods were the next best choice for me.

I constructed each pod to hold the two MbQuart 5.25" RSB 215 mids and tweets as well as a side area to mount the MbQuart Musicomp crossovers.

The pods started out as an MDF frame and supports.

Here's me after sealing and painting one of the pods and about to begin the tedious fiberglass resin work.
One down, one to go!

The fiberglass enclosure done, and carpeting installed, this thing came out looking pretty good! Note the angle of the face of the speakers (this is the left side door), they angle up a bit to give optimum imaging to the ears. I experimented for a while to get just the right angle for my ears.
The pod installed with covers removed. Here you can plainly see the MbQuart Musicom crossovers with easy access to many any adjustments later on. I used acoustically transparent cloth to construct a grill cover for each side (not shown).

And, I didn't have to cut up my door panels to do this!
